Ombudsman to meet with struggle kids
OMBUDSMAN John Walters will on Wednesday morning conduct public hearings with the children of the Liberation struggle, who are also known as the ‘struggle kids.’
The meeting will be held at the Ndilimani farm on the outskirts of Windhoek, where a majority of them reside.
Aurelia David, the Ombudsman spokesperson, said that the purpose of the meeting is for the Ombudsman to gauge the collective view of the struggle kids regarding to matters that concern them.
“The Ombudsman has had numerous consultations with representatives of the group regarding their concerns, challenges, experiences, desires and so forth. It was thus decided that public hearings would be the best way to give as many of them as possible an opportunity to share their experiences with the panel,” David said.
