QU honours winners of third Youth Research Forum 2021 03 May 2021 - 6:53 QU President Dr. Hassan Al Derham (right) honouring a winner from the 3rd Youth Research Forum 2021. The Peninsula Doha: Qatar University (QU) Young Scientists Center (YSC), in cooperation with the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science (QNCECS), recently concluded the third Youth Research Forum 2021 entitled “Identity and Cultural Tourism: Towards a Culture and a Sustainable Legacy.” The honouring ceremony took place at Qatar University, under the patronage of the President of QU, Dr. Hassan Al Derham in the presence of Prof. Mariam Al Maadeed, VP for Research and Graduate studies at QU, while taking all precautionary measures for COVID-19.

This year’s World Press Freedom Day theme “Information as a Public Good” serves as a call to affirm the value of cherishing information as a public good and exploring what can be done in the creation, dissemination, and reception of content to improve journalism, advance openness and empowerment by leaving no one behind. On this occasion, several media specialists at QU expressed their opinion on the importance of the free press.
