162 shopkeepers registered to provide fruits, vegetables on controlled rates

Rawalpindi : The district government has registered 162 shopkeepers under ‘Insaaf Sasti Mobile Shops Programme’ who will provide all kinds of vegetables and fruits at cheaper rates.
The local administration has allocated 10 points at public park near Double Road, Haidri Chowk, Committee Chowk, Dhoke Hassu, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Chakri Road near Zafar Plaza, Adiala Road at Jarahi Stop, Chur Chowk Model Bazaar, and Chungi No22. The citizens could buy vegetables and fruits in cheaper prices from these designated points.
The local administration will also provide vegetables and fruits at cheaper prices in designated points in tehsil level here at Shahra-e-Kashmir Kallar Syedan, Kotli Satiyan Main Bazaar, Chowk Sarai Kalan Taxila, Sabzimandi Kahuta, Main GT Road Gujar Khan, and Lower Mall Murree.

Rainwater harvesting project

Rawalpindi: The Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Tariq Mehmood Murtaza visited Bilal Masjid, Muslim Park, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed and inaugurated rainwater harvesting project to reuse rainwater.
Rawalpindi is the second city in the Punjab, he said, adding that RDA has started recycling of used water in this mosque after Sirajia Masjid, Asghar Mall Scheme with the help of UNDP. He said that mosques need a lot of water to meet everyday requirements. It is being expanded and will be a bigger model after completion.
Rainwater collected will be used for washing and cleaning of the mosque, ablution and wash rooms where ablution water will be used for plants and grass in the park established in front of the mosque. He said that more than 400 worshipers perform ablution in the mosque daily while 1,000 to 1,500 worshipers come here for Friday prayers. WASA crackdown on defaulters

Rawalpindi:Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi on Monday launched a crackdown against the defaulters and sealed 12 services stations.
Talking to APP Director General WASA, Raja Shoukat Mehmood said that action in accordance with the law was being taken against the water bill defaulters. He informed that today an operation was conducted in Pirwadhai, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed and College Road areas under the supervision of Senior Special Magistrate Amir Ishfaq and 12 service stations were sealed in Pirwadhai area while their water pumps were also confiscated.
The DG further informed that two raids were also conducted at under construction plazas in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed and College Road areas and the team took action in accordance with the law.
