The Assam cabinet has approved the merger of Seba and AHSEC into one single board called ASSEB. This merger aims to develop, regulate, and supervise the standards and quality of school education in the state. Additional decisions by the cabinet include proposing a separate entry for the Biate community, creating a Khasi-Jaintia Development Council, granting a local holiday for the Ali Aye Ligang festival, and reducing tax rates on electric vehicles until 2025.
