Efforts were underway to contain about 400,000 litres of crude oil which leaked from an undersea pipeline near Map Ta Phut in Rayong province on Tuesday, Marine and Coastal Resources Department director-general Sopon Thongdee said on Wednesday.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) updated its website on the operation of national parks nationwide on Friday. Many parks have reopened, though some partially, while several remain closed either due to Covid-19 measures or because of the rainy season.
Khao Laem Ya-Mu Ko Samet National Park in Rayong has opened for overnight stays for tourists, however, other attractions in the park are still closed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
