A Dhaka court yesterday placed 11 people, including president of Dhaka University Chhatra Dal unit Md Khorshed Alam Sohel, on a four-day remand in a case filed under the Special Powers Act.
Bankers’ human chain protesting against vandalism of Bangabandhu’s sculpture

The officials and employees of state owned banks on Tuesday took to the streets and formed a human chain in the capital protesting against the vandalism of a sculpture of Bangabandhu.
Bangabandhu Parishad, an organization of banks officials and staffs, organized the human chain in front of the Bangladesh Bank in the capital’s Motijheel at 11:00am, said a press release Officer and staffs of the state owned financial organizations including Bangladesh Bank, Sonali bank, Agrani bank, Janata Bank and Rupali Bank Ltd took part at the human chain.
