PESHAWAR: The newly-elected office-bearers of Chitral Students Association (CSA-KP), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter, took oath at a ceremony held at the Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday.
Students and people of Chitral hailing from different walks of life also attended the ceremony.
Professor Dr Ismail Wali presided while Member Provincial Assembly Maulana Hidayatur Rahman was the chief guest on the occasion.
Dr Ismail Wali administered the oath to the CSA-KP office-bearers. CSA-KP president Khaliq Dad, patron-in-chief Syed Ziauddin, general secretary Sajjad Ahmad spoke on the occasion.

9,950kg hashish seized, five arrested

KARAK: The police on Saturday claimed to have seized 9,950 kilograms of hashish during three raids on the hideouts of drug smugglers and also arrested five drug peddlers in the limits of Karak, Latamber and Takht-i-Nusrati police stations.
Police sources said that a police party from the Takht-i-Nusrati Police Station raided the hideout of drug peddler Nazranullah, a resident of Sarki Lawagher, and arrested him.
Police recovered 5,250 kilogram hashish and a 9MM pistol along with ammunition from his possession. The cops took the drug and pistol in custody and shifted the accused to the police station for further interrogation.

The Rangers and police arrested 12 suspects, including five who were allegedly involved in kidnapping and murdering a man, in the city on Saturday.
According to the police, Khair Muhammad had been kidnapped from a plastic warehouse in the jurisdiction of the Mominabad police station on October 2, and was later murdered in Gulshan-e-Ghazi. The culprits burned his body to hide his identity.
However, the Rangers and police identified him through intelligence and forensics, later stating he was murdered over personal enmity.
The law enforcers arrested five suspects, namely Wali Jan, Khaliq Dad, Muhammad Ismail, Haji Muhammad Akram and Jumma Khan, for involvement in the murder.
