MELAKA: A security guard from Klebang Besar here will not get to balik kampung to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with his family in Terengganu even if the interstate travel ban is lifted.
Khairil Anwar Sulaiman, 41, said he last visited his family in Paka, Terengganu, for Hari Raya five years ago.
He could not travel because his son was born with congenital heart disease and later developed gallstones.
“I cannot even visit my in-laws who are staying in another district here. But I will pray for the travel restriction to be lifted for this Hari Raya. No one should endure our anguish of not being together during Hari Raya, ” he said in an interview here.

The child will be undergoing his sixth surgery at National Heart Institute (IJN) on April 27, and his dad, who works as a security guard, is running from pillar to post to bear the surgical costs and follow-up treatments.
Khairil Anwar Sulaiman, 41, from Klebang Besar here said he had exhausted all his savings and EPF money to help his second son.
“I cannot bear to think that my son will no longer be with us just because I do not have enough money for his treatment, ” he said when interviewed here on Wednesday (April 7).
