LAHORE: On the call of Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), Youm-e-Palestine was observed all over the country on Friday.
Clerics and religious scholars of different schools of thought urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the United Nations Organisation (UNO) in their Friday sermons to take practical measures to prevent atrocities on the oppressed people of Palestine.
At the religious congregations, resolutions were also adopted by clerics and religious scholars, who said that on the request of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the OIC ministerial level meeting should be called to take practical steps on the situation in Palestine.

Ashrafi meets Kuwaiti ambassador

ISLAMABAD: Special Representative to Prime Minister on Religious Harmony and Middle East Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi Tuesday said that Pakistan wants unity and stability in all Muslim countries and efforts on part of Ameer-e-Kuwait to improve ties among Gulf countries positive and welcoming.
In a meeting with Kuwait s Ambassador to Pakistan Nassar Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi here on Tuesday, Ashrafi said that five million Pakistanis were working in Gulf countries and Pakistan willing and committed for unity and stability in the entire Muslim world. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan takes keen interest in resolving issues and challenges of expatriate Pakistanis, working in Gulf countries. He said new employment opportunities are being established in UAE and as per past traditions, Pakistanis will play an imperative role on restructuring of UAE and Gulf countries.

ISLAMABAD: Special Aide to Prime Minister on Religious Harmony and Middle Eastern Affairs Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi has said Pakistan endorses reconciliation process among Gulf countries and the role of Kuwaiti Ameer and Khadim-e-Harmain Al-Sharifain Shah Salman bin Abdul Aziz in this regard is appreciable.
“Ameer-e-Kuwait and Saudi Crown Prince Ameer Muhammad bin Salman have strengthened Islamic Ummah and Arab world for moving towards reconciliatory process to address issues,” he said while talking to the media here on Tuesday.
Ashrafi said Pakistan wanted unity and stability of Islamic world and aims at addressing all confronting issues of Muslim world amicably through dialogue.
