A SPECIAL constable from Bromsgrove who lost his right left after a car ploughed into him is now making his policing comeback. Ben Perry s dream career on the force came to abrupt halt three years ago after the life-changing crash. Now, he will be working with a team at Redditch Police Station maintaining vehicles, with a desire to eventually return to frontline operations. In March 2018, the 27-year-old spotted a road user had aquaplaned and hit into a central reservation when driving home on the M42. Mr Perry stopped to help, putting on a fluorescent yellow jacket and placing an orange flashing beacon on the roof of his car.
