Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh attended the official Send-off ceremony for the Mongolian Olympic Contingent on July 9, 2021.
During the ceremony, the President wished success to the teams and athletes representing Mongolia at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games before handing over the flag of Mongolia to the Chef de Mission of the national team B.Battushig.
The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be held in Japan from July 23 to August 8, 2021. Mongolia’s national team will compete in 10 sports at the Olympics, a record number in the country’s history.

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. With IM Kh.Bolortuya qualifying for the finals in the women’s 62 kg weight class at the World Olympic Games Qualifier that is taking place in Sofia, Bulgaria, the 9th or the last wrestling athlete of the national team has qualified for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
This will be the first time for female Mongolian wrestlers to compete in the Summer Olympics with a full team.
In the tournament, athlete Kh.Bolortuya faced off against Iva Geric of Croatia, Nathali Griman Herrera of Venezuela, and Veranika Ivanova of Belarus, and came out victorious through victory by fall (VFA) in all matches. She has also had a successful run at the Asian Championships that took place recently by grabbing the silver medal.
