Pile-burning season begins in the White River National Forest

Winter pile burning on the White River National Forest begins Wednesday with firefighters burning slash piles south of Eagle in the Third Gulch area near Hardscrabble Road. On Thursday and Friday, crews will burn piles.

Pile burning to begin near Breckenridge, Keystone, Silverthorne and Frisco

Fire managers with the Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unit are planning to begin burning slash piles in the Dillon Ranger District in the coming weeks, according to a news release from the U.S..
