Although Ashanti and Keyshia Cole’s Verzuz matchup on Thursday (January 22) was underwhelming, to say the least, it still managed to give fans some memorable moments. Fans had a field day on social media between the women being an hour late, to OT Genasis stopping by to sing Cole’s 2005 hit “Love.” But 21 Savage ended up stealing the show with his antics while taking in the R&B Verzuz.
Savage played commentator via his Instagram Live and sang along to several tracks, including Ashanti’s “Foolish” and Cole’s “I Remember.” Fans got a kick out of Savage’s shaky high notes, but he might’ve gotten the best reaction after singing along to Missy Elliott’s part on Cole’s “Let It Go” single from 2007.

Now that the Ashanti/Keyshia Cole Verzuz is over, hip-hop fans are trying to predict the next match-up. Many suggestions are being thrown out, but one of the most popular ones that keeps popping up is Chris Brown vs. Usher. Many on Twitter are arguing over whether it would ever happen and who would win. Sadly, back in July, Chris Brown wrote on Instagram that he would probably never do a Verzuz. He wrote, “Only vs ima do is CHRIS BROWN VS CHRIS BREEZY… not in competition with nobody but myself.”
Usher has been killin’ the game longer than Chris has been on earth, so it’s no for me. Usher deserves to battle himself. Let’s go with young Usher VERZUZ mature Usher. I said what I said!
To watch the battle, viewers can begin streaming at 8 p.m. EST this evening via the Verzuz TV Instagram page as well as on Apple Music.
The Ashanti vs. Keyshia Cole Verzuz battle was postponed in December after Ashanti announced she tested positive for the coronavirus. The singers rescheduled the bout for January 9 before once again postponing the sing off. It goes down this evening.

The long-overdue Verzuz TV battle between Ashanti and Keyshia Cole has finally streamed on Verzuz s Instagram account on January 21. The duo s Verzuz match was postponed twice due to Covid-19, and fans were not too pleased with such delays. However, to amaze everyone, Ashanti and Cole have finally got down on Verzuz TV to have their online battle.
The January 21 event at Verzuz marked the fourth women-led showdown. In May, Cole, 39, suggested she was open to going head-to-head with Ashanti, 40, but things did not fall into the right pieces due to Ashanti s health issues.
