Morning. We just got an update from police here. About 30 minutes ago. The alleged victim is the sheriffs wife. She called 911 and told officers at their Pasadena Home that their husband, sheriff robert bait man, assaulted her. Officers also noticed injuries to her face described as minor and damage to an exterior door and then arrested the sheriff about 7 30 sunday evening. Minor abrasions, scrapes, bumps, bruises, i would say, with some swelling. Are we sad about the incident . Of course, we are. Its been very important to us as a Police Department that we did the right thing for right reasons at the right moment in this incident. Reporter back here live at the Police Department. Sheriff bateman was arrested without incident charged with Second Degree assault which is a misdemeanor and has been released on his own personal recognizance, his weapons and credentials taken.
