they could call to oust a sitting speaker. mccarthy, we re told, has agreed to that cononcession. also, they wanted members who would take part on the house rules committee. that is a very powerful committee here in the house that would essentially dictate the terms of the bill and the amendments on the house floor. it is usually controlled by the leadership. mccarthy agreed to give some members seats on that very powerful committee which had huge implications for the bills that come to the floor and the amendments being offered to it. now, in the final concession we learned about, he s promising to give them votes on key policy matters they proposed. among those issues is imposing term limits on members of congress. it was resisted by people serving in congress for some time, which is a lot of the more veteran members, the more senior members. there will be a vote on the house floor. that doesn t mean it will become law. but at least mccarthy said he
