Breaking overnight, the iranian president and foreign minister of iran killed in a Helicopter Crash. Lets get to correspondent Richard Engel with more. Reporter we just got word a few hours ago that the helicopter carrying the president of iran, raisi and the foreign minister and others crashed. There was a search and rescue operation where they did not find any survivors in the crash debris. This delegation of three helicopters and one went down carrying the president after he left the border area of iran and azerbaijan in foggy conditions. I have spoken with u. S. Officials who say the cause was foul weather. Iran, lots of speculation on social media, eiran is not pointing fingers at israel or the United States.
