ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) New York State Friday released its interim COVID-19 guidance for in-person classes for grades pre-k through 12.
The state guidance does align with Centers for Disease Control guidance that allows for three feet of social distancing between elementary school students, saying “Responsible Parties may reduce physical distancing requirements to a minimum of three feet between students in classroom settings, subject to adherence to certain mitigation measures herein.”
Students will still need to wear a mask at all times.
For middle school and high school students, the amount of space required for social distancing will depend on the rate of COVID-19 transmission.
