Brandt Bronico, a Charlotte 49ers alumnus, joined Charlotte FC on Dec. 18, reuniting him with technical director Tom Nicholls, Bronico s former club and USL League Two coach.
Fate brought Brandt Bronico and Marc Nicholls back together, with a bit of help from Chicago Fire and Charlotte FC.

th Major League Soccer franchise announced Bronico as their third signing on Dec. 18, reuniting the Charlotte 49ers alumnus with Nicholls, his former club and USL League Two coach with North Carolina Fusion and Carolina Dyanmo.

Charlotte 49ers alum Brandt Bronico was acquired by Charlotte FC, making the midfielder the Major League Soccer franchise s first American player.
Brandt Bronico is coming home.
The former Charlotte 49ers midfielder and High Point native is the third player to sign with Charlotte FC. Bronico, who was selected in the third round, 47
th overall in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft by Chicago Fire, was acquired in a trade along with Chicago’s fourth-round pick in the 2022 draft in exchange for Charlotte’s 2022 fourth-round selection.
