ROCK SPRINGS The Rock Springs City Council will look at approving an early retirement incentive plan at its upcoming meeting.
During the Council meeting Tuesday at 7 pm at City Hall, the Council is scheduled to review an early retirement incentive program. According to the resolution, the city of Rock Springs expects to experience fiscal challenges.
“The purpose of an early retirement incentive program is to incentivize employees to retire early to reduce personnel reductions during times of budgetary shortfalls…,” the resolution states.

The resolution states the city realizes some positions will be eliminated, while others may be refilled at a lower pay rate. The resolution also states the city recognizes some employees may qualify for early retirement, but cannot do so due to health insurance concerns.
