haguerstown area. just to the north of martinsburg into west virginia. more rain down to the south. look just to the south of fredericksburg into spotsylvania county. i spect more storms to develop and move over areas that have already seen heavy rain. that s why we have a flash flood watch until 2:00 a.m. for the entire area. but notice the areas in the red. culpeper, manassas, including fauquier. but also winchester, martinsburg and hagerstown all under flash flood warnings now. they ve seen heavy rainfall. some flash flooding going on in each of those locations. be care philadelphia you are driving out to the west. watch out for the rest of the night, too. i ll let you know what i expect for the rest of the night and tomorrow coming up. floodwaters from the mississippi river are pouring into more communities and farmland across the south. and more and more residents in the path of all that water are trying to get out of the way. jay gray is in melville, louisiana, right

new, a local woman s fight to honor her mother s memory. it s a story that starts in the south during world war ii and ends with a woman who died more than a month ago and hasn t been buried. reporter: during world war ii lieutenant louise lomack was one of the few african american to serve as a nurse. she hoped to be buried at arlington, her only child has been fighting to make it happen. this is my mother. she was in her early 20s here. reporter: she grew up in southern virginia and tried to join the army. her daughter said because of her race she had to fight to get in. she didn t talk a lot about it. i saw her scrap book. reporter: as that scrap book shows in 1943 she was assigned to an air base in alabama. she was discharged ten years later, got married stayed a nurse. as her health went down she and her daughter discussed her wishes. she said well, my first choice was arlington. reporter: many of the airmen are buried there but space is limited so there

susquehanna hanna river is phylicia barnes. her brother told wjz the search for his sister is over, that investigators have confirmed her identity. it is undescribable. reporter: the medical examiner used dental records to identified the mangled body to try to bring some closure to her family. her parents have pleaded for her safe return. what s baffled police is the complete lack of evidence they found since she disappeared from this apartment almost four months ago. going door to door, putting fliers on cars, trying to generate as much intelligence as possible. reporter: police have been cautious. two conowingo dam workers found the body yesterday. barnes is from monroe, north carolina, was visiting her half sister. she hoped to attend towson university. we have children here, you know, and we just pray. that s all we can do is pray. it was a shock to everybody around here and everybody was trying to figure out where could she have gone that fast. reporter: th
