Attempted Murder Suspect Accused of Shooting His Girlfriend in the Face Taken Into Custody Following Pursuit in Port Orford, Sheriff s Office Says

Thursday May 6th, 2021, Curry County Sheriff’s Detective Maia Mellow was investigating a burglary that occurred in the early morning hours on Elk River Road in Port Orford.
Detective Mello contacted the victims, got a list of stolen property valued at about $8,000 and then spoke to a witness who had seen two vehicles leaving that residence before daylight.
A little later while searching for the suspect vehicles, Detective Mello located two stolen vehicles at a residence on Langlois Mountain Road. PORT ORFORD, Ore. A fugitive wanted on attempted murder charges in California surfaced in Curry County last week. He was arrested after a brief chase and subsequent standoff, according to the Curry County Sheriff s Office.
Deputies in Curry County first got onto the trail of 34-year-old Kevin Gerolaga while investigating a series of thefts. On May 6, a CCSO detective was investigating a burglary on Elk River Road in Port Orford where the perpetrators took roughly $8,000 in items. A witness reported seeing two vehicles leaving the house before daylight that morning.

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, Calif. A man accused of shooting his girlfriend in the face was arrested in Curry County, Oregon.
On Saturday, the San Joaquin County Sheriff s Office said 34-year-old Kevin Gerolaga was brought into custody after fleeing from a traffic stop in Oregon. Gerolaga had an active warrant for his arrest on attempted murder charges.
According to a Facebook post from the sheriff s office, Gerolaga is accused of shooting his girlfriend in the face during an argument early in the morning on April 21.
