Kevin Durant Injury Update: Return For Nets Star Might Not Come Soon

It could still be a while before the Brooklyn Nets have their full complement of stars on the court together. Kevin Durant will miss even more time after the All-Star break with no target date for his return.
Durant will miss his 10th straight game with a hamstring injury Thursday night when Brooklyn hosts the Boston Celtics. Nets head coach Steve Nash said Wednesday that Durant will have another scan on his hamstring next week, according to ESPN’s Malika Andrews.
Nash noted that Durant will have an “appropriate ramp up” time before he plays in a game. The first year-coach said Durant is doing really well, though the superstar is still not playing 5-on-5 in practice.

The Brooklyn Nets entered this season with championship aspirations. Now that the team has traded just about all of its assets for James Harden, failing to reach the 2021 NBA Finals would have to be considered a major failure.
Only the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers have better odds to win the title in the aftermath of the blockbuster trade. Not only are the Nets the favorites in the East, but their odds to represent the conference in the NBA Finals are twice as good as those of the next team, according to BetOnline.

If you were following the NBA rumors, you know that James Harden was unhappy in Houston. He demanded a trade months ago and his wishes were granted. James Harden was traded to the Brooklyn Nets to play with Kevin Durant & Kyrie Irving. Yes The Nets have a big 3 now, but their bench was wiped out in order to make this trade happen. So we ll see how this plays out.
