Glasgow Sheriff Court, where Andrew Fenton was sentenced on Monday A LEARNER driver caught speeding in a sports car at night walked free from court. Daryl McFarlane was snared by police in an unmarked car near Glasgow’s Carntyne in February this year. The 25-year-old narrowly avoided a crash and was clocked swerving his BMW X1 around a roundabout at speed. He later claimed he had reasons for his behaviour. McFarlane pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to careless driving, driving with no insurance and while holding a provisional licence. He also admitted failing to complete 250 hours of unpaid work from an earlier sentence for assaulting a doorman and a police officer in May 2018.
