Kevin Bui pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder. A plea deal reached between the defendant and prosecutors proposes a sentence of up to 60 years in prison 30 years for each count.
A 20-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of second-degree murder for starting a house fire that killed five family members after he mistakenly believed a stolen iPhone was in the home.
Kevin Bui agreed to serve 60 years in prison as part of his plea agreement, though he will not be sentenced until July 2. Sixty other counts against Bui were dismissed as part of the agreement, as was a second, separate case in which he was accused of bringing drugs into jail in June 2022.
