New Delhi/Balia: At least 15 people, including two government officials, have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh for their alleged involvement in a massive wedding fraud.

The community wedding was conducted under a government scheme that provides Rs 51,000, with Rs 35,000 allocated for the bride, Rs 10,000 for wedding materials, and ₹6,000 for the event.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warns that anyone who threatens the safety of daughters in the state will face severe consequences. He emphasizes the government s commitment to protecting women and empowering them economically. Adityanath also announces various development projects and initiatives aimed at supporting women, including a scheme to provide financial assistance to daughters and free domestic gas cylinders for beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme. He also mentions plans to increase women s representation in elections and recruit more women in the police force and education sector.
