Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is the first Black woman to be nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court and after a grueling three days of questioning - and in some cases badgering - by Republicans, she has finally cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee and appears to be headed towards confirmation as a justice with support from a united Democratic Party and she even managed to pull a small group of Republicans in along the way.
The 19th highlighted the broad coalition backing Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination to the Supreme Court and the efforts to ensure her confirmation, including the $1 million ad campaign jointly launched by Building Back Together, the Black Women’s Leadership Collective, and She Will Rise. The digital, television, and radio ads in D.C. and in battleground states including Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, including on Black-owned media outlets and publications, emphasize Judge Jackson’s extensive qualifications and broad experience across the legal profession and urge her swift, bipartisan confirmation by the Senate.
