A HOMOPHOBIC thug who launched a savage attack on a gay couple and smashed a man in the face with a pool ball so that he feared he was blind in one eye is now behind bars. Brandon Taylor is now serving an extended sentence after he was ruled to be a dangerous offender after a string of violent offences in Worcester and Malvern, including an attack which left a gay couple nursing broken bones in a trauma unit. The 19-year-old was handed a nine and a half year prison sentence at Worcester Crown Court on Friday after attacks which also included a street robbery, biting a man at McDonald’s in Worcester city centre and biting a city police officer.

The 21-year-old of Ludstock Close, Worcester, has yet to be sentenced for assault occasioning actual bodily harm and theft of the wallet following the attack in Black Horse Walk in Lowesmoor on March 26, 2019. Kiani was part of a gang of five who pummelled Kester Jardine so badly he was left with no memory of the attack, waking up in hospital. However, the defendant has also already admitted a more serious charge - grievous bodily harm with intent (section 18) which was committed in Malvern on September 20, 2019. This indictment is also said to involve two further counts aside from the GBH, this time of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Details of the attacks in September were not disclosed in open court but are said to involve a 19-year-old co-defendant, Brandon Taylor, who has a care of address of St Paul s Hostel in Worcester.

No jail for Worcester thug who kicked man in the head in gang attack

A THUG has avoided prison despite being part of a hooded gang of five who beat a man unconscious in a dark alleyway. Mohammed Raja was sentenced on Thursday for his part in the group attack upon Kester Jardine in Black Horse Walk, Lowesmoor, Worcester. We previously reported that Martin Coffey, aged 26, of Maple Avenue, Worcester was the only person to have been sentenced for the attack, with a 22-month jail term for assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Raja was the latest to face justice and at his sentencing hearing for the same offence prosecutor Amrisha Parathalingam told the court he had been part of the gang that shouted to Mr Jardine and his friend to ask if they wanted to buy weed .
