Tomorrow, March 11, is the day that we’ll finally be able to get our hands on H&M’s collaboration with Simone Rocha.
The Irish designer has become a star of London Fashion Week in the decade since she founded her label, shaping a look which is at once tough and pretty. Her decadently delicate dresses, treasure-chest jewellery and frilled blouses are the stuff of fashion insider fantasy but the H&M project will see Rocha, who had been on the Swedish retailer’s collaboration wish list for some time, make forays into menswear and childrenswear for the first time.

Continuing a long tradition of acclaimed designer collaborations, H&M announced a new collaboration with fashion designer Simone Rocha earlier this year.
The London-based designer is internationally renowned for her intricate and beautifully crafted collections, always with a nod to her own heritage: Ireland and Hong Kong.
The collection launches 11 March 2021 and will be available to shop at the V&A Waterfront and Sandton City H&M stores.
From Balmain to Margiela, Kenzo, Comme des Garcons, Erdem to Giambattista Valli, H&M has been democratising luxury fashion through its annual designer collaborations for years.

Just in time for our entrance back into society is the long-awaited release of Simone Rocha’s collaboration with Scandinavian high street stalwart, H&M which finally launches this Thursday.
Alongside the positively dreamy campaign featuring Adwoa and Kesewa Aboah that recently dropped, Rocha and H&M have today also debuted an innovative AR experience to coincide with the launch which sees the likes of Paloma Elsesser, Helena Bonham-Carter and Kaia Gerber digitally model the clothes.
Aware of being unable to host a physical celebration in honour of the launch, Rocha instead tapped British artist Faye Wei Wei, who also stars in the campaign, to paint five pieces to serve as backdrops for the starry cast of characters, who spring to life from the pages of a digital book via QR codes.

Women s Wear Daily recounts an anecdote of Lagerfeld being accosted in a restaurant after news of the collaboration had been announced and asked: It is true.? But it s cheap. What a depressing word, Lagerfeld is said to have replied. It s all about taste.
Chanel might have had nothing to do with Lagerfeld s collaboration with the high-street giant, but the brand s 2.55 handbags are among the most coveted designer items. By buying a piece of his H&M line, it felt like being allowed a piece of something you might otherwise never have been able to afford.
