Birmingham City 0-1 Tottenham Women: Spurs end season on high note

Birmingham City 0-1 Tottenham Women: Spurs end season on high note Share this story Photo by Tottenham Hotspur FC/Tottenham Hotspur FC via Getty Images It’s difficult to call Tottenham Hotspur Women’s 2020-21 WSL season anything but a disappointment, but they certainly ended their campaign on a high note. Spurs snapped a four match losing streak on Sunday as striker Kit Graham scored the match’s only goal in a 1-0 away win over Birmingham City Women at Damson Park in Solihull. The win was mostly for pride Tottenham were safe from relegation but there was a chance that with a loss they could have finished as low as 11th. The win was just their fifth of the season in eighth place, four points behind Reading. Birmingham, by contrast, finished a miserable campaign without a home win all season, and without any win at all in 2021.

Tottenham Women 2-3 Everton: Spurs undone by two early penalties in loss to Toffees

Tottenham Women 2-3 Everton: Spurs undone by two early penalties in loss to Toffees Share this story Photo by Catherine Ivill/Getty Images The sun shone on a lovely day in London as Tottenham Hotspur Women hosted Everton Women at The Hive in Edgware. The match didn’t turn out to be as positive as the weather for Tottenham, however. Tottenham were victims of two harsh penalty calls by the match official, but roared back to level the score from a 2-0 deficit. Unfortunately, they couldn’t keep Everton out and ultimately fell to the Toffees, 3-2. The biggest change to Tottenham’s last lineup was a debut for 18-year old Spurs defender Esther Morgan, who came into the team at right back for the injured Ashleigh Neville at the expense of striker Rianna Dean. Rosella Ayane also came in, and Gemma Davison was a last-minute change for Cho So-hyun. Rachel Williams, Hannah Godfrey, Ashleigh Neville, and first choice keeper Becky Spencer all missed the match with injury.
