A member of the Church of Christ in Hunter, he was a man whose faith led his daily life and fulfilled his purpose to love, support, teach and provide for his family. As a role model for his children and grandchildren, he created a legacy for generations, exemplifying his work ethics. He had a heart of gold, always putting the needs of his family and friends before his own. Learning to milk at the age of 18, Hollis believed in sustainability of the land and was a well-known dairy farmer in the community for 48 years.
