North Smithfield Police make two drug arrests
NORTH SMITHFIELD – The North Smithfield Police Department made two drug-related arrests within one week of each other earlier this month.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the department arrested Kerrie Dugas, 42, on Jan. 5 after receiving information that she had been selling fentanyl in multiple jurisdictions. Police observed Dugas in what appeared to be a hand-to-hand transaction in the parking lot of the Li l General on Great Road. After the transaction was complete, police say they approached Dugas vehicle and found a large bag of suspected fentanyl and cash in her hand. They arrested her and obtained a warrant to search her vehicle, finding another 20 grams of fentanyl, 34 suboxone strips and $3,742.92 in cash.
