Channel veteran Neels du Plooy exits VMware
Departs software vendor after almost nine years
Neels du Plooy has vacated his role as channel director across Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) at VMware, exiting the software vendor after almost nine years.
ARN can exclusively reveal that du Plooy who joined the business in May 2012 has departed effective immediately amid plans to take a short break before starting efforts to return to a channel-facing role in the near future.

VMware culls staff in rebalancing strategy

VMware is to lay off roughly 310 employees across the company in what the vendor called a “regular workforce rebalancing” strategy.
According to a spokesperson from the vendor, there has been “a limited number of changes” to its entire workforce, with the cull only affecting around one per cent of its employees.

VMware APJ CTO Bruce Davie departs

VMware Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) has seen another of its leadership team head for new horizons as Bruce Davie retires from the vendor.
Before its acquisition, Davie was a senior architect at Nicira, and prior to this was a Cisco Fellow, driving a variety of networking innovations.
According to his LinkedIn, Davie, who resides in Melbourne, has formed a new company named Systems Approach LLC, which will develop and publish open-source content related to computer networking.
