June has heavy rains with over 20 mm of rains for the state on a daily basis. This time, only single digit was recorded. Now, as the Cycloen Biparjoy will move away deep into the sea, the usual Monsoon pattern may set in, giving more rains over Kerala.
These rains can be attributed to the Peninsular India trough, a regular feature during this time. Also, Cyclonic circulation is over Southeast Arabian Sea in the lower atmospheric levels, pumping moisture towards the state of Kerala.
Kerala Rains: Thundershowers over many parts of the state are likely to be accompanied by strong winds. Exercise caution for lightning strikes, more so for the mountainous terrain of the state.
The rainfall activity over Kerala is not expected to be widespread as such but heavy spells over isolated pockets can be expected, which will be starting today and last until April 29.
