Kerala Assembly Speaker A N Shamseer has expressed that he never intended to hurt any religion s sentiment, and he considers the controversy over his comments on Lord Ganesha as "very unfortunate". Shamseer addressed reporters stating that during his recent speech in Ernakulam, he urged to promote scientific temper. The protestors from NSS allege that the comments brought shame & discontent to Hinduism s sacred beliefs. The ruling CPI(M) has condemned the Sangh Parivar s campaign against the Speaker over the alleged remarks.
