KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 21 gamblers, including a woman, was detained following a raid on a mini casino located at a shop house in Kepong.
The raid, codenamed Ops Limau which was conducted by the Kuala Lumpur CID s anti-vice, gambling and secret societies division (D7), saw police personnel raiding the premises at about 4.40pm on Thursday (Feb 4).
Kuala Lumpur CID deputy chief Asst Comm Nasri Mansor said gambling activities have been going on there for about two weeks. The gambling den was created specifically in conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year celebrations. We discovered three games being held there- mahjong, cards and sigola.
