The state Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister said some 53,209 newborn Sarawakians had received RM1,000 under the state s endowment fund since its implementation in 2019.
The one-off incentive which can only be withdrawn when the child turns 18 is meant for their further education or to help them start a career.
Fatimah also said that 23,564 mothers had received postnatal care assistance of RM450 since it was introduced last year.
She added that 169,473 senior citizens had applied for the Kenyalang Gold Card introduced last year, which enables them to enjoy rebates or discounts from its strategic partners throughout Sarawak.
