How did you meet Kanu era powerful minister, Nicholas Biwott?
While a student at Kenya Polytechnic in 1991, I approached Biwott, then the Energy minister, to help me clear my fees because I believed he would help me complete my education. He did, in full, a week later.

And how did you end up as his personal assistant?
When I went to seek for financial assistance, he told me to wait because he was travelling out of the country. But he didn’t say when he would be back, only that I should wait for him at DT Dobie along Koinange Street, Nairobi. Without any telephone, there was no way I could reach him so I religiously visited the shop every morning till evening for a week.

Kendi Ntwiga is an exemplar of the phrase, “Still waters run deep.” She describes herself as “naturally an introvert”, so much so that when she began her career, she really kept to herself and did not really ask questions.
“I did not know how to seek for assistance or for help and reach out. I overcame that by realizing that I had to research and put myself out more. I had to learn to raise my hand, ask questions and share what I was struggling with and I found that people were more than willing to assist,” she says.

Briefly tell us about yourself
I am the current head of technical services at SGA Security Kenya Limited. In this role, I steer the technology department with the design and implementation of electronic security solutions. I work closely with the commercial team in responding to security bids as well as coordinate the day-to-day running of the technology department.
