Kenya Davids has released her second book.
Paarlite Kenya Davids has published her second book,
Shades of Honey.
The 23-year-old, who works in digital content, was born in Paarl and lived in Australia for three years and in New Zealand for four years, but returned to Paarl in 2017.
Davids studied journalism at Varsity College.
She started to work on
Shades of Honey, which contains 38 poems, shortly after the nationwide lockdown in March 2020.
“I would write whenever boredom struck me or when I just needed a release,” Davids said.
She says
Shades of Honey is a dedication to women of colour and is about unity within diversity.
