HENDERSON, Ky. While many counties are losing offices where driver s licenses and REAL ID s can be obtained, Henderson County is poised to become a go-to location.
During Tuesday s session of the Henderson County Fiscal Court, Jailer Amy Brady and Henderson Circuit Clerk Herbie McKee updated magistrates about the effort to establish a Regional Driver s License/REAL ID office in Henderson.
The initiative is due to a decision by the Kentucky Transportation Department to streamline the process through creating regional offices instead of allowing circuit clerk s offices to issue the pieces of identification. We have been in communication with the state on the possibility of the detention center being involved in a project (to construct) a REAL ID/driver s license testing regional office in Henderson County, kind of like the Probation and Parole Office, Brady said.

Cooper describes the bridge as expensive, unpredictable and flat-out dangerous. He says it was bad before the pandemic and it s still bad now. And it will still be bad when it finally reopens to four lanes in the fall. So, we need a plan.
Any delay in fixing the bridge is affecting Northern Kentucky businesses. Cooper says one of his IT competitors told him a lack of maintenance and improvements on the Brent Spence had cost him over $1 million in lost business.
