Alabama Alums at The Masters; Round 2 Recap The second round of the 85th edition of The Masters has come to a close for the two Alabama alumni who are in the field. Both Justin Thomas and Michael Thompson entered the day in the middle of the pack trailing the leader Justin Rose. Thomas turned in a special second round going 67 (-5) after scoring one over par in round one. The Kentucky Native will enter the weekend tied for fourth place, three shots behind Rose s seven under. Thomas brought his tournament score back to even par with a birdie on the opening hole. Thomas continued the solid play on Friday morning and racked up six birdies on the day. He attacked the par-5 on the course and birdied three of the four on the course and nearly converted an eagle-putt on hole 13.
