A Liberal MLA for Kent South says the provincial government isn’t doing enough for safety on Route 11.
The Department of Transportation announced yesterday rumble strips will be installed two segments, one that will run 12 kilometres from Miramichi to Redmondville while the other will run 15 kilometres from Rexton to Saint-Pierre-de-Kent.
The government says research has shown rumble strips can help reduce vehicle collisions.
MLA Benoît Bourque says it’s a step, but a small one, “By doing this, it might help a little bit, but I don’t think it is sufficient.”
