Sabah welcomes assurance of more manpower in the healthcare service but Sabahans should be given precedence in filling the roles, said Star Deputy Secretary-General Rizal Johari
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah and Sarawak can expect better healthcare facilities, more manpower and improved benefits with the Health Ministry preparing the Health White Paper draft, says Khairy Jamaluddin.
The Director of the Duchess of Kent Hospital Sandakan, Dr Francis Paul, has been appointed Director of the Labuan Health Department, succeeding Dr Ismuni Bohari, who has been transferred to head the Perlis Health Department.
Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii, who a led six-member delegation to welcome and pay a courtesy call on Dr Francis, said:
“We are pleased that a senior medical officer with more than two decades of experience has been posted here.
“Being from Sabah, he (Dr Framcis) would be better able to understand the local situation due to the similarities in the social patterns of Sabah and Labuan,” he said
