Area churches offer different ways to connect

On Christmas Eve, hardy parishioners at St. Stephen’s in Marblehead will brave winter temperatures to celebrate outside, with a service broadcast from the sound system high in the church’s steeple.
“We’ll have a recorded service with scripture and carols,” said Pastor Ross Johnson. “We’ll end the evening with ‘Silent Night,’ circling up, and lighting candles.”
Everyone will wear a mask and stand at a safe distance, he said. Those who are too cold can stay in their cars in the parking lot and listen in.
