KENT - The Board of Finance approved a request from the Board of Education to establish a one-time non-lapsing fund, which is expected to be used to fund an armed security guard at Kent Center School. The vote came at a meeting last week, reversing last month's request in which the fund was denied.T
KENT - A request by the Board of Education to use surplus funds for a security officer at Kent Center School was turned down by the Board of Finance Wednesday.
The denial comes after a similar proposal - to hire a second resident state trooper to be assigned to the school - was rejected by voters
