City councillors are working to ensure the public’s safety in the Norman Park area. The City of Kenora says an agreement was reached with the provincial government to provide $60,000 under the Inclusive Community Grants Program. The funds will enhance accessibility upgrades that have already taken place, including adding a paved path from the washroom area to the playground, and towards the transition ramp that will be installed with guardrails near the beach. The area’s existing retaining wall and stairs will also be repaired, and a table and contour benches are expected to be installed.

Flag Raising For Rotary Week

Kenora, ON, Canada / 89.5 The Lake Feb 24, 2021 7:55 AM A couple of members of the Kenora Rotary Club were on hand for a physically distant raising of the Rotary Flag at City Hall on Tuesday. The occasion? The Rotary Club says its celebrating 116 years of “doing good in the world”. Deb and Gord LeMaistre, Fred Wright and city representative Kelly Galbraith were on hand for the flag-raising ceremony. The Rotary Club kicked the week off on Monday by naming it’s Paul Harris award winners locally. Vicky Hawkins and Gary Sokolotuk were honoured for their work in the Special Olympics movement locally, while Diane Pochailo was given the award for her volunteer work.
