Note: This is the poem that I read at the Darlington Alumni banquet for our 50th class reunion . . .
Good Ol School Days
My parents let me off at the schoolhouse door;
Marian Couger welcomed me to Darlington School,
Then assigned me a seat and laid down the rules. I ve heard about you from some of my friends,
Your bad behavior will come to an end.
You will work very hard and stay out of trouble,
Or to the principal you will march . . . on the double.
Well, I learned how to count, and I learned how to write,
