Dog Saved After Getting Head Stuck in Pipe in 5-Hour Rescue Mission

A group of dedicated first responders worked closely for five hours in order to rescue a dog trapped in a cast iron pipe.
On Thursday, the Kennett Fire Department of Kennett, Missouri, was called in on a unique rescue mission for a dog who had been trapped in some equipment on a potato farm.
Fire Chief Paul Spain told
Newsweek that the dog was believed to have gotten stuck in the Black Gold potato farm s harvesting and planting pipe system days prior before someone realized the animal couldn t get out on her own.

KENNETT, Mo. (KFVS) - A late night fire at Plaza Tire is under investigation.
According to the Kennett Fire Chief Paul Spain, they responded the fire around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24 at Plaza Tire on Independence Avenue.
He said the fire spread from tires in an outside storage area to inside the business. He said there was limited damage to the inside.
Firefighters were on scene until about 2:30 a.m.

KENNETT, Mo. (KAIT) - State and local authorities are taking a closer look at two fires that damaged a local business and destroyed a home.
Just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, the Kennett Fire Department responded to a house fire on 4th Street.
According to Fire Marshal Dennis Hamlett, the home had previously caught fire several years ago.

KENNETT, Mo. (KAIT) - A woman died Thursday morning in a fire in Kennett, according to Fire Marshal Dennis Hamlett.
Hamlett told Region 8 News that firefighters were called around 9:45 a.m. Thursday about the fire at the senior citizens section of the Kennett Housing Authority in the 900 block of Depot Street.
Mary Smith Collins, 59, died in the fire, Hamlett said.
The fire is being investigated by the Kennett Fire Department, Kennett Police Department and the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office.

KENNETT, Mo. (KFVS) - The Kennett Fire Department was dispatched to a building fire Tuesday morning at the Beaton Street apartments.
Firefighters said there were multiple units fully engulfed.
Multiple families were displaced due to this incident, but firefighters said all the occupants were able to get out safely.
The American Red Cross was contacted to help the families.
