Until it picks back up, Fayetteville s taking a hit.
Representatives from GasBuddy say the city s gas prices have gone up 5.4 cents per gallon just in the past week. On Monday gas prices averaged out to $2.72 per gallon among the city s 212 gas stations. Local prices on Monday fell within a 30 cent spectrum. The cheapest rate was $2.59 per gallon, and the highest was $2.89 per gallon.
That gap is even bigger when the lens is drawn out to look at the whole state. North Carolina gas prices on Monday ranged from $2.43 per gallon to $3.18 per gallon, GasBuddy representatives said. The situation is growing more intense each day that passes without the pipeline restarting, and motorists are advised to show extreme restraint or exacerbate and prolong the challenges, Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, said in an email statement Monday. If the pipeline returns to service in the next day or two, the challenges will be minimal, but if full restart doesn t happen
