It was revealed as part of an event in November 2018 that several new
Gundam projects are coming up as part of the focus on the Universal Century timeline. One of those was the
Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash feature film, which is being done as a movie trilogy that’s based on the 1989 novel trilogy from Yoshiyuki Tomino.
With most of the delays behind it due to the pandemic, the film is currently set with a May 21st, 2021 release date in Japan for its theatrical run after seeing various delays. With the recent states of emergencies, it was only a matter of time before this film got the push and it’s now been slotted as TBA s to when it’ll actually hit theaters in Japan.
