Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill, who graduated from OHS in 1977, was assigned to oversee the cases of the four officers charged in the death of George Floyd. Floyd s death in May 2020 sparked a worldwide movement that consisted of widespread protests against police brutality and racism.

Investigation continues in fatal Greendale Township fire  Wednesday fire killed 78-year-old man Dec. 14, 2020 FacebookTwitterEmail Michigan State Police troopers continue to investigate a fatal fire that occurred on Wednesday in Greendale Township. At about 4:10 p.m. on Dec. 9, troopers responded to Volmer Drive north of School Road in Greendale Township, Midland County, after neighbors reported an explosion and fire at a trailer home. Lee Township Fire Department and Homer Township Fire Department responded to the scene to fight the fire. Once the fire was out, investigators located 78-year-old Kenneth Lilly, deceased in the ruins. Preliminary information indicates that Lilly was at the residence working on the trailer home’s furnace tenants previously reported smelling gas inside the trailer home.
